Sitting on the couch that evening, I could tell something was going to happen. I felt unprepared for the challenges I sensed lurking in my future. Please note that I have no television. The only thing in my line of vision was a blank wall.
Immediately a challenge presented itself. Where had my water gone?
| |
When faced with uncertainty, I often ask myself "What would Russell do in this situation?"
I began to have an idea, but as you can see, things were still a little dim. |
The idea was even profound enough to loosen my hair from its bindings. |
Russell, I realized, would don a bandanna. A blue one. This one is mostly blue, so I figured it would suffice. |
| Armed with this courageous headgear, I reassessed the situation. It was worse than
I had initially thought. My water glass was empty.
I, too, felt empty. |
Fortunately, years of training and experience, not to mention close proximity to Russell, had taught me exactly what to do in such circumstances.
First, I went to the sink in my kitchen and turned on the water.
| I placed the glass under the faucet and let water flow into it. I managed to capture the water in the glass on the very first try! This takes practice and talent. And a bandanna. | |
This is what the glass looked like after 3.5 seconds under the faucet. Note the presence of a significant amount of water in the formerly empty glass. |
I was thirsty after all my hard work, so I drank some of the water. It tasted very good. I felt proud. |
